Fall 2025 Return to Campus – Major Impacts

Fall instruction starts on Wednesday, September 24, and we expect increased traffic and parking congestion in the first few days of the quarter. Consider adjusting your regular commute (telework, bus, bike, carpool) and check this page for parking structure and lot fill status updates between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. View map of parking facilities here.

Additionally, there are some ongoing construction projects that will strain traffic flow in some areas:

Hutchison Drive

  • Between Health Sciences Drive and La Rue Road – Both roadway directions reduced to one travel lane.
  • Between Bioletti Way and the Teaching and Learning Center – The sidewalk on the south side of Hutchison Drive is closed. Follow the detour signs.

North Quad 

  • Between A Street and East Quad – Fully closed to vehicles and carts. Extensive detour for pedestrians and bikes. Please heed the signage. Additional, higher volume detour available south of Young Hall. Please be aware that vehicle traffic on A street does NOT stop at the intersection of the Young Hall Bike Path and A Street. 

West Quad

  • At the Coffee House – The sidewalk on the east side of West Quad, immediately adjacent to the CoHo will be closed for construction. Please follow any detour signage. 

Parking Lot 25 Bike Path

  • Bike Path South of Lot 25 – The pedestrian path is closed while a construction project finishes up. Please follow detour signage to the temporary walkway within the bike path. 

Mondavi Area

  • Mrak Hall Drive & Old Davis Road – This traffic signal is on all-way-stop/blinking red while repair parts are sourced. Please be patient and considerate of all users when traveling through this area.
