Getting Started

  • Download the free HONK app on your iPhone or Android
  • Sign up (contact information)
    • Sign up using your email address and phone number. You will also need to create a password.
      Employees and Students: this information does NOT need to match your UC Davis login credentials.

Pay for Parking

1.  Launch the HONK app.

2.  Pick the zone where you'll be parking

  • Zone IDs all begin with UCD and end with the permit type or location (e.g., UCDC).

Top Tip:
Only use the "Hourly Parking" tab for daily parking rates.

    Search By Map

    Search By Address

    Use exact address and street name.

3.  Select your affiliation: student, employee or visitor

  • Students and employees will be prompted to log in with UC Davis CAS credentials to access the lower rates.

4.  Select the daily rate block to proceed
 

Top Tip:
Select the heart icon next to your preferred zone(s) for easy access on the landing screen.

5.  Enter vehicle information

  • Add your license plate number and an optional nickname for the vehicle
  • Select "Save Vehicle"
    • Note: HONK lets you save multiple license plates and multiple payment methods.

6.  Pay and start your parking time

  • Choose a payment method (e.g., Apple Pay) or enter/add a payment method/card
  • Pay and park
    • Note: You'll get a confirmation pop-up to double-check your license plate number before finalizing.

 

Purchased wrong permit!
You can switch your plate/vehicle within the first 10 minutes through the receipt function. HONK will automatically refund your purchase and you must repurchase (the exact same permit type) using your saved payment method.

  • No cell phone? No problem! Pay online.
  • 1. Click here to visit the HONK website
    2. Select Sign Up/Login
    3. Use your UC Davis email address to set up your account (if applicable)
    4. Enter vehicle(s) and payment types of your choosing
    5. Once your account is set up, select the zone in which you parked or plan to park on the map or from the list on the left side of the page, or type in the street address in the search bar and continue to pay for parking.
