Retiree Parking Program

The University is grateful for the contributions of UC Davis retirees and realizes the value of the Retiree Parking Program in support of these continued efforts. The campus remains dedicated to funding retiree parking and any future changes or updates to the program will be promptly communicated.

Eligibility
  • Former UC Davis employees, identified by the campus Benefits Office as retired.
  • Retirees from other UC campuses who join the UC Davis Retirees' Association or UC Davis Emeriti Association. 

Request a Virtual Retiree (RT) Permit

Thanks to the Retiree Parking Program, retirees can request a virtual RT permit that they can associate with up to 3 vehicles. New retirees who have not previously requested an RT permit should email parking@ucdavis.edu with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Documentation to show retired status
  • Retire date
  • Mailing address

Once your request is approved, our team will reach out with instructions for claiming your virtual parking permit. 


Permit Renewals

Retirees are asked to renew their permit in June of every year. Those registered for a permit should receive an email by June 15 with renewal instructions. If you do not receive a renewal notice by June 15 or have questions regarding the process, please email parking@ucdavis.edu or call 530-754-3687 M-F from 8:30am - 4pm.

Parking with your RT Permit

  • The RT permit is a virtual parking pass and no physical permit is needed! Once you've claimed your permit, you will not need to print or display anything in your vehicle, or to complete another transaction to park on campus.
  • Retirees may associate up to 3 vehicles with their RT permit, but only one vehicle can park with the permit each day.
  • The RT permit provides access to all A, C, C+, and L permit zones on the UC Davis campus, as well as B and D permit spaces at UCDHS. 
  • The RT permit is valid for use only by the person it is registered to, with the exception of surviving spouses who are registered through the Retiree Center.  Misuse may result in citation, revocation of permit privileges and/or additional penalties and sanctions.
  • If you return to school or work with any level of appointment or compensation, you are no longer eligible for the complimentary retiree parking benefit and should notify our office as soon as possible.
