South and West Campus Permit Program
Starting September 2024, parking permits are required in the contiguous South and West areas of the Davis campus. This includes areas south of I-80 and west of CA-113, ensuring consistent application of transportation policies across the UC Davis community. Revenue collected from this program will be reinvested into these areas for maintenance and improvement projects. In 2025, Transportation Services will establish a stakeholder committee to help prioritize these projects. View permit options below.
Permit Options
Parking permits are required Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (excluding University holidays). Daily and hourly permits can be purchased using the AMP Park app and monthly permits can be purchased through the Transportation Services parking portal.

Getting Started with AMP Park
Follow these steps to purchase a daily or hourly permit via the AMP Park app (click here for more detailed instructions):
- Download the AMP Park app and tap "Create Account" (Aggies should use their UC Davis email address for access to the lower affiliate parking rates)
- Tap "Add New Vehicle" and confirm your vehicle information
- Navigate to the location search bar on the home screen and search for your desired permit (Doesn't matter where it is on the map as long as it's the correct permit type)
- Select your desired vehicle and tap "Continue"
- Add your payment method, and tap "Purchase" to check out (Within a few minutes, you should receive an emailed receipt)
- For future purchases, tap "Reorder" to reorder a pass from your purchase history
FAQs
- Can I move my car once I've paid for a permit?
- Absolutely! Your permit is valid in any equivalent or lower-cost zone across campus. For example, if you purchase a C zone permit to park on the central campus, you can move to any C, L, or F zone throughout the day.
- Is there a pre-tax payment option for UC Davis employees?
- Yes! UC Davis campus employees can sign up for a Commuter Card, a pre-tax benefit account with a reloadable VISA card used to pay for qualified parking and public transit. Follow this link to learn more and get started with the Commuter Card Benefits Program.
- What determines a zone and the associated permit cost?
- Zones are determined by how improved the parking area is and parking utilization needs. Zones are how we help spread parking demand.
- What permit type should I purchase if I'm not in a marked parking area or I don't see a sign?
- Some employee's job duties require them to park outside of a parked marked parking area. If that is the case, they should purchase an F permit unless it's posted otherwise.
- Is there a monthly F permit option?
- Not at this time. Transportation Services will review the need for this permit over the next fiscal year and make a recommendation to university leadership on the addition of this permit.
