Commuter Card Benefits Program

Lower your parking and transit expenses by using pre-tax dollars!

In November 2023 Transportation Services launched the much anticipated UC Davis Campus Commuter Card Benefits Program, offering a pre-tax benefit account with a reloadable VISA card to pay for commute-related expenses. The program, administered by the HealthEquity family of companies, is available to UC Davis employees on the Davis and satellite campuses.

Eligible employees can sign up, change, or end their commuter benefits between the 1st and 10th of every month. Join the nearly 400 UC Davis employees who have already signed up and start saving on your commute!

Interested in signing up? Here's how it works:
 
  • Follow these steps to request a Commuter Card and set the amount of transit and parking funds you want to be deposited on a recurring or one-time basis.
  • UC Davis will deduct that amount from your paycheck using pre-tax dollars.
  • HealthEquity will send you a VISA card (The Commuter Card) loaded with the parking and transit funds you requested.
  • Use the Commuter Card to pay for parking via AMP Park, your monthly LRPP, or transit fare.
  • Pause or cancel payroll contributions to your account at any time. There’s no “use it or lose it” while you’re in the program.
Tips from Commuter Card users:
 
  • Only the Commuter Card is available to UC Davis employees. Do not select the Pay My Provider or Pay Me Back options. Neither of these are options facilitated by UC Davis and will result in delayed benefits.
  • When placing a parking order, you’ll be asked to designate a parking location and a work location. Don't worry about being exact - the locations don’t matter so long as they’re both on the UC Davis campus.
  • Funds are deposited on the Commuter Card on the first of every month. For LRPP permit holders who wish to pay before the first of the month, consider paying for one more monthly permit with your regular payment method. That way, when you receive your next monthly LRPP reminder, there will be enough funds on the card to use then and moving forward.
  • To access your account, visit https://ucdavis.luum.com (not https://my.healthequity.com) and log in with your Kerberos ID. Click "HealthEquity Accounts" on the left sidebar to manage your orders and view balances and savings.
