Bryce Council Selected as Executive Director of Transportation Services
Bryce Council has been named Executive Director of Transportation Services at UC Davis, following a nationwide search. He will begin his new role on November 1.
Bryce brings more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience with UC Davis and UC Davis Health, most recently serving as Director of Operations for Transportation Services.
He joined UC Davis Health in 2009 and advanced through several leadership roles, including Manager of Parking, Transportation and Fleet Services (2017–2022), where he oversaw fleet operations, transit planning and parking programs for the health campus.
Bryce earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and holds professional certification from the International Parking and Mobility Institute. His experience across both Davis and Sacramento campuses gives him a deep understanding of the complexities and interconnections within UC Davis’ transportation systems.
I received repeated comments about Bryce’s technical expertise and his understanding of industry best practices, technology and pricing methodology,” said Eric Kvigne, associate vice chancellor for Safety Services. “Equally important, he’s known for his collaborative approach and his ability to find solutions that balance the many interests across our campus.”
As executive director, Bryce will lead a team responsible for delivering sustainable, customer-centered transportation programs that serve a growing and changing campus.
Transportation Services continues to operate in a challenging budget environment while addressing the need to maintain critical infrastructure like paths, lots and parking structures, and modernize technology systems, including improvements to the HONK mobile app and other tools that enhance the commuter experience. With one of the largest campus bike networks in the nation, Transportation Services plays a vital role in supporting safe travel for cyclists, pedestrians and users of mobility devices who share our roads and pathways every day.
I’m honored to lead this dedicated team and continue strengthening the transportation programs that connect our campus community,” Bryce said. “Our goal is to modernize systems, improve service and ensure UC Davis remains a leader in sustainable, forward-thinking transportation.”
Please join us in congratulating Bryce Council on his appointment as executive director of Transportation Services.
