Bicycle Pairing Program
Transportation Services is proud to be partnered with Aggie Compass, local organization Bike Davis, and our great campus community to repurpose certain abandoned bikes for students who are needing reliable and cheap transportation.

Transportation isn't always free, but bicycling can be among the very cheapest means to get around. The Bicycle Program is excited to work with Aggie Compass to identify students who are struggling with transportation costs, and/or logistics, and believe that a bicycle could help give them valuable stability. Our hope is to help students identified by Aggie Compass and pair them to a bicycle that was donated to our program, which was previously abandoned on campus.
Where the bikes come from: It doesn't take long to notice how many bikes get left on campus. Each year our program (Bicycle Program) will impound over 1000 bikes, and sometimes the owners of these bikes are kind enough to donate them to our program. Another way we get eligible bikes is through our auctions, specifically bikes that fail to sell at one of our auctions become donations. Once donated, we're able to do a wide variety of things with these bikes, one of which include donating them to registered non-profits. For this program we are working with our local bike advocacy organization Bike Davis who helps finance this program through grants awarded from the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District.
